Customer Reviews:
Potential not realised January 27, 2008 Francis Rottenburg (London, England) It is a good unit and it does some of the things it says - but getting to do those things is a nightmare. Perhaps it is my logic and others will find it easy to use the extras but I can't. The manual is hard to download (the booklet in the box is a very brief guide) and when you've got it the instructions are very poorly laid out. Some of the screen shots are in French which is confusing. By far the worst thing - and why I bought it - is the ability to access the stuff you store on the website application. This is truly useless with all sorts of instructions about creating folders and adding addresses to the GPS unit. It is very confusing to determine what adds where and whether it will be added to the GPS. I would say a difficult beast to master but I am continuing to go at it and will add comments if I get there.
Viamichelin X970T UK/Ireland - Excellent Value For Money! January 15, 2008 Mr. Jonathan Wright 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've used the x970T for over a week now and I can't praise it enough. I was undecided as to whether to go for the Tom Tom One like so many others. Having made the right decision I can now say that compared to the viamichelin, Tom Tom's are a rip off!! For the same money as the Tom Tom the X970T gives you: 1. Up to date speed camera locations which you can download and update for free on a monthly basis - 20 a year on a Tom Tom. Best bit is the on screen indication as to the speed you should be doing for each camera!!! 2. Bluetooth facility - use your mobile phone legally on hands free. 3. TMC - free traffic information (unit comes complete with TMC antenna). This feature does work and has saved me getting stuck in 2 traffic delays already! 4. Free map updates. The unit is very well made and all the accessories are of top build quility. You even get a mains power adapter as well as a 12v adapter. A USB cable is also included for synchronising information from the computer. This is the 3rd Sat Nav I've used (including the highly rated Navman F20) and this is the best yet.
