Amazing value June 19, 2010 M!ke (Poole - Uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'd read how even the expensive sat navs give errors or fail, so my expectations of this product were low as it was so cheap. I'd been put off the idea of a sat nav because I have a heated front windscreen and I had read that this could interefere with reception, however it seems to have no problems picking up the satellites.
I gave it a thorough testing as I had to visit a lot of addresses in a fortnight. It got me there every time, despite some minor confusions.
Don't depend on the speed restriction warnings as they are not always correct. Councils like ours in Poole seem to change them frequently to catch out the motorists and swell their coffers.
It is very easy to use and looks smart. I've never had to use the stylus as the touchscreen seems to work reasonably well with my finger.
I expect that the more expensive models have lots of extra features, but I can't think of anything that I feel is missing. I have never used some of the options such as MP3 player or ebook reader as purpose-built hardware does such tasks much better.
It came with all the necessary accessories: Software CD, Manuals, In-car charge lead, USB cable, Window mounting kit, Earphones, SD card.
I paid £55 and I am very satisfied.
Bought it from Benthams (via Amazon) and it arrived promptly and safely.
Poor product and not user friendly June 13, 2010 M (Edinburgh) The product was fine until I placed it in the car. took forever to find GPS signal and froze halfway through a journey. It has problems with roundabouts. Also the speaker is very poor and cheap. Also the road view, doesnot exist on my model. Home page starts with a random street in a random city. Extremely not user friendly. Finally, I am unable to update software. Not happy with the product.
Why pay more? May 15, 2010 K. W. Wright 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a satnav for my new driving job.I looked around to see what was available and decided to take a chance on this one as it was the cheapest and had some good reviews from other buyers.I have found that with electronic stuff the cheaper brands are often just as good as the big name brands and my theory has proved to be right with this satnav. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, but that's the same with most stuff you buy these days.Once I had played with it for a while and figured out how it worked it did everything I needed it to do.Clear audio and on screen guidance gets me to where I need to be.
Dont bother paying over the odds for a known brand satnav. This little gem is all you need if you want to get from a to b with no fuss.
You get what you pay for May 12, 2010 E. J. Hopkins (Hampshire, England) This little Sat Nav says one thing when it means another - my best advice is don't just go by the audio instructions, it will tell you to turn left when the visual display indicates you should turn right - this has caught me out a few times - the MP3 function is totally inaccesible - and it loses the plot when you deviate from the route it wants you to take, inventing all manner of fictitious options, phantom roundabouts and roads that don't exist - be warned!
New, or Old May 8, 2010 Mp Paul Chalkley 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
brought this item, on recomdations of 'review's' by others buying this item. on receipt, looked good, on inspection, found marks that indicated, that it was 'second hand' i paid for a 'new unit'. it did not respond when i turned it on, thought that a full charged would do it. drove for hours until light turned green, still no responce. car charge is fine, it;s the unit thats not working. i have not given this item any 'rateing' as i do not know how it looks. i have been informed by...the company, i lose 20 % of the cost of the unit, to return the item.
