Good buy January 4, 2009 Easy to use and pretty good buy. So far it has been working well for me.
Great product but total lack of support January 3, 2009 E. Leboeuf A soon as I connected the Tomtom to my PC the unit froze and it was impossible to switch it off or do anything with it. Manual has no information how to perform a reset. The Tomtom website has a support version but only up to v3 (which has a reset button), but no support info is provided about the v4 unit. I finally found that by keeping the power switched pressed for about 1 minute, it is possible to switch off the unit and restart from there. The unit that I received has a map which was already 1 quarter out of date, and I would have to pay if I want to get the map updated. The unit should really have a mechanism to provide a FREE map update so user get an up-to-date map from the time they purchase the unit. The battery only lasts about 2 hours which is a bit restrictive. It is also annoying that the battery discharges rather fast while the unit is switched off. Outside these issues, the unit is very easy to use and the driving instructions straightforward. The smaller screen (compared to the XL) makes the system less distractive particularly when driving at night. The windscreen holder, is small and practical. Otherwise the unit by itself is very good, but the lack of support material is quite worrying in case anything goes wrong.
An embarrassing disappointment December 25, 2008 Nimerc (England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have just been given a TomTom One Europe 22 as a Christmas present. This is proving embarrassing. I thought I would plug it into the computer to download any updates, but after that the TomTom repeatedly froze at the initial screen and refused to advance any further. I have spent most of the day trying to redeem the situation, but to no avail. I have a Mac and reading a few of the other reviews this might be the problem. I have fired up my old XP Dell laptop and downloaded the "Home" application used to interface with the TomTom server, but this did not resolve the problem - perhaps by then it was too late. When it was working, before I was foolish enough to try and update the thing, the touch screen and interface struck me as very clunky and unresponsive. If you are used to the likes of an IPod Touch you will be very disappointed. It is difficult to work out what files, manuals etc relate to this model on the manufacturer's website. On my experience so far, I would definitely look elsewhere!
Just hope you do not have a problem which requires support December 24, 2008 Harry M (Leicester UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Sat Nav did not work on arrival and eventually after much correspondence I rejected it as not fit for purpose and Tom Tom agreed to accept a return. Originally they promised a credit in 15 days, this was not met and I was told it would take 4-6 weeks for "security" reasons. I had paid by credit card so this excuse was clearly nonsense. After 10 weeks I still had not received a credit and made a claim through the credit card company, which was immediately successful. Following this experience I would never consider purchasing another Tom Tom Device

The tomtom one europe is a value for money sat-nav,i read the reveiws and in the end went for a tomtom. As a hgv driver i have used it a lot and it has not let me down yet,if you take the wrong turn it recalculates pretty fast a couple of seconds. It is easy to use but just back it up to your computer before you use it to save data,a good device at a good price.
