Garmin USB Cable - You WILL need this!July 5, 2010 R. Wilsdon(UK) I have loads of USB cables but couldn't understand why my new Garmin nuvi 255 wouldn't connect to my Mac to carryout software and map updates. After a bit of research I found out you need a 'Garmin' USB cable?? Don't ask what the difference is, I couldn't find this out. At £0.89 it was the cheapest of cables I could find and it worked straight away. My sat nav now has the latest maps and software limiting the chances of me being sent down a one-way street the wrong way!
Works fine with my NuviJune 26, 2010 Mememe Was a bit worried about this destroying my Satnav or falling apart after reading some reviews but it worked fine. I only used it once to do the free map update (which I was told wasn't available once I'd connected). Borrow one off someone with a BB if you can be bothered!
Perfect for my Garmin Nuvi 255WJune 10, 2010 Katie Sobol Just the thing I needed to connect my Garmin Nuvi 255W to my PC (this cable doesn't come as standard with the Sat Nav - you have to get it seperately) and this was such a good price on Amazon, I knew I wouldn't get it cheaper locally!

I bought this item on the basis that "Others who bought this Garmin GPS also bought this item". It was not necessary as a cable was included with the Garmin. This type of promotion is mis-leading and very irritating. I have been induced to buy something that was not necessary.
