good maps
cheap and cheerful device
i wish it had a bit more options like chaning the voice of the speaker from that irritating lady to a better voice
directions were okay and accurate, usually did not get lost.
compensated fast if i made a mistake
i still have to update the maps though
worked well in Spain - don't know about other countries yet.

I like the larger screen and it gets you where you want to go fine without taking me into dead-ends and farmyards (so far) and has the built in Europe and Ireland maps but I find the girls' voice raspier / tinnier than my old Nuvi, also I miss the compass that always gave me back-up confidence as to the general direction I was travelling in and the on-screen in transit flagged-up information is virtually impossible to read with normal middle-aged sight so I have to keep my reading glasses handy which is a nuisance to keep taking them on and off whilst driving (will have to buy a pair of 'half-moons') also the "Dong""Dong" speed warning cuts in frequently even if you are well within the limit. fact I am beginning to wish I updated my old Nuvi 300 ("Dong" "Dong" free!)in spite of the cost.
Advice? unless you have 20/20 vision and do a lot of continental driving it's ideal but if you just need it for UK use, upgrade your old Sat Nav if you are happy with it otherwise.

Garmin nuvi 255W Satellite Navigation
This sat nav is very slow to respond which makes it confusing to use. You think you are at one turning point when you are actually at another because it hasn't caught up with your actual position. I have never used another sat nav but my friends who have used this model also said it is slower than most sat navs.
Its a shame becuase its a good product in all other respects but I would avoid due to speed issues.

So easy to use, I had it loaded with all my Wife's favourite destinations in 5 minutes and the item is just so easy to use.

I used it to help me get from Cambridge to Balham. It was very helpful as my wife cannot navigate. It also helped me to go from Balham to the M40 on my return journey to North Wales.
