Good Watch when it works September 2, 2010 Mr. P. O'neill I got the Fr60 as a replacement for the Fr50 as it was faulty. For the first few months it worked fine. Now the front of the watch has got very shabby and the layer of skin surrounding the face is bubbling and pealing only after 8-9 months. It looks as if it was sitting in the sun though I live in Ireland so not a possibility!! I called Garmin and they were very unhelpful so they have just lost a customer.
great watch for fitness lovers August 30, 2010 shashank I bought this watch a month ago .This watch really keeps my enthusiasm to continue working out.It will keep track of the number of calories u burnt ,This is quite helpful for me to know how many calories I spend and motivates me to burn the same amount(or even more in consecutive days).
The heart rate monitor helps me to regulate my workout during aerobic exercises,which can help me not to get injured.In short great watch with decent price tag.I like it need check for the durability :) yet
Superb! August 22, 2010 Teo Katopodis (Larnaca, Cyprus) The best non-gps heart rate monitor watch!
Easy to use. Easy to read while running.
Very light and comfortable.
Foot pod extremely accurate out-of-the-box.
User-replacement battery.
Better than any Polar.
That's all you need.
Great for training indoors and out July 21, 2010 STHLM_26.2 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this gadget for my first marathon and have been training with it all the time. It's basically a sports watch with a heart rate monitor and a foot pod (a high tech pedometer). I have been very impressed with its accuracy over lots of different distances and terrain. Generally it's about 96% accurate out of the box without any calibration. When it comes to the long distances the 4% variance makes hardly any difference. I would highly recommend this watch if you don't want any GPS/mapping features.
Pro's:
* Very accurate out of the box
* Looks like a regular sports watch (i.e. not too big on your wrist)
* You can download all your workouts to the Garmin Training Centre software or upload it to the Garmin Connect website and do lots of geeky analysis
* Can be used indoors on treadmills (unlike GPS watches)
* Measures speed, pace, distance, heart rate, calories
Cons:
* No GPS or mapping
* You can't download training programs created in Garmin Training Center to the watch
* Menu system takes a while to get used to
* Backlight not that bright
worst buy ever June 22, 2010 Djh Spence (london) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got a garmin because my running partner got a polar.I definatly got the short straw, I have had nothing but problems with it, it stops starts on its own, it freezes, the buttons dont work and I have even done some runs with it in my pocket because it would not start before the run. On my way home from my run tonite I dropped it in the post slot at oxfam. I should have got the Polar.
